A landmark built for the family photo
The Giant White Rabbit is a two-metre figure made to anchor storybook trails and family photo stops. Its job is not to be the tallest piece on the site but the one children recognise and walk up to, so the scale is set at a height that reads as a character rather than a monument. A trail that ends at a photographable rabbit gives families a reason to complete the loop, and that dwell point is what the rabbit is designed to create.
Designing a rabbit that reads up close
At two metres the figure is met at close range, so the details that decide whether it looks friendly are the ones that matter: the posture, the ears, and the soft shading of the white surface. The body is a galvanised steel frame under satin silk, and the surface is acrylic hand-painted in white with gentle shading so it does not look flat under daylight. The ears are the tallest part of the silhouette and the most fragile, so they are framed to hold their shape in a breeze while staying light enough to keep the base simple.
Scale and the daylight read
Because the rabbit sits among a trail rather than across a square, it has to work by day as well as by night. The white silk with soft shading keeps the figure recognisable with the lighting off, so a daytime family event still has its landmark. The lighting runs as its own zone and stays subtle, a soft internal glow rather than a bright wash, which suits a piece meant for close, personal photographs.
Engineering a trail piece
As a bespoke XL-CU build, the rabbit is engineered to your site wind zone, with load calculations and fire certificates supplied per shipment. The base is a ground anchor or hidden ballast sized to the footprint, and the foundation detail is issued before production. The piece is built in segments for standard road freight and assembled on site, with the body and ears as the largest assembled parts.
